Lloret de Mar lies to the south of medieval Girona, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Costa Brava coastline. Ride iconic routes overlooking the Mediterranean and take on the Catalan Mont Ventoux in the Montseny Massif. An ideal hub for a long cycling weekend, Lloret’s climate is very pleasant from early spring through to late autumn and boasts the freshest of seafood.
Day 1: Arrive in Lloret de Mar
We recommend a morning flight. After arriving you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel in Lloret de Mar. You will have time to build your bike (or pick up your hire bike) and grab some lunch. In the afternoon you will have time to ride along the coast road, taking in the stunning views.
Day 2: The route of three climbs
Take on the star route of the area. Against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea and while pedalling through green and silver holm oaks, this route takes in 3 mountain passes. Leaving Lloret de Mar you head towards Sant Feiliu de Guixols and the start of one of the best coastal roads in Europe. You then loop into the hills and through the beautful landscape of the Gavarres Massif. The final climb is the Sant Grau, which offers amazing views back to the coast.
Day 3: Turo de l'Home
Today’s route is a climber’s route (don't worry we have can supply other less hilly routes too). The challenge is to climb the towering Turo de l'Homme. On the way, you pass through beech forests in the Montseny National Park. The locals call this climb the Catalan Mount Ventoux! On clear days you can see Mallorca from here!
Day 4: Departure day
There is time for one final cafe run, before we transfer you back to the airport. We recommend you get an afternoon or evening flight. If you want to extend this trip, this is possible.
