The itinerary
Day 1 | Arrive at Avignon, Nmes or Marseilles airport.
Transfer by minibus or taxi to where youll board your boat and be equipped with your bicycle.
Day 2 | Round Tour Avignon
Your first days cycling will start by crossing the River Rhne at the island Ile de la Barthelasse and through a landscape typical of the region between vineyards and orchards. The route reaches Villeneuve les Avignon, which is full of wonderful medieval monuments before you cycle back to Avignon for a guided visit of the historic centre.
Day 3 | Aramon to Avignon
In the morning navigation till the town of Aramon, where you will start pedaling. The stage today will bring you to the best preserved Roman aqueduct in Europe: Pont du Gard, a very spectacular work. Overnight you will stay in Aramon with a beautiful view over the Mont Ventoux.
Day 4 | Aramon to Vallabrgues
You start your day sailing to Vallabrgues, pretty Provenal village on the banks of the Rhne. Along country roads, you will arrive in Barbentane with its castle at the confluence of the Rhne and Durance rivers. You will cycle to the magnificent Abbey of Saint Michel de Frigolet and afterward down to the medieval village of Boulbon. This evenings overnight stay will be in Vallabrgues.
Day 5 | Vallabregus to Arles
This stage brings you to Saint-Rmy-de-Provence, birth place of Nostradamus. This village is also famous for having hosted Van Gogh in the days of his mental illness. In the end, you move onto the Alpilles, with Les-Baux-de-Provence, a village lodged in the rock itself. A landscape of limestone cliffs and olive trees accompanies your journey.
Day 6 | Arles to Aigues-Mortes
Today the whole morning is dedicated to visit Arles, the ancient capital of Gaul with beautiful Roman ruins. You will also have the opportunity to be welcomed by a professional guide, who will accompany you around the jewels of the town. After lunch, you reach the lock of Saint Gilles and from there you will sail to Aigues Mortes for the overnight stay.
Day 7 | Round Tour Aigues-Mortes
Going through small country lanes of Camargue between canals, lagoons and small villages you will reach in the afternoon the charming fishermens village Le Grau-du-Roi.
Day 8
We say au revoir before transferring you directly to your departure airport by minibus or taxi.
